AD Ports Group is preparing to receive three new Panamax ship-to-shore cranes from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd (ZPMC) of China, which have been ordered for the company’s new multipurpose cargo terminal in Safaga, Egypt. This new facility is expected to be operational in the second half of 2026.

The Group is investing a total of AED 193 million in the new shoreside gantry cranes, as well as six hybrid rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for the Noatum Ports – Safaga Terminal. The new facility will cover an area of approximately 810,000 m2, with a 1000m quay wall, and will have capacity to handle 450,000 TEU of containers, 5 million tonnes of dry bulk and general cargo, 1 million tonnes of liquid bulk and 50,000 cars a year. AD Ports will operate the new multipurpose terminal in Safaga under a 30-year concession agreement signed with the Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA) in 2023.
