Cpk Launches Tender For 92Km Road Network Around New Polish Hub Airport

Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has launched a design and build tender for four major road projects that will form the primary road network serving Poland’s future central transportation hub and airport.

The tender, issued under the Port Polska investment program, covers the design and construction of approximately 92km of new and upgraded roads in central Poland, west of Warsaw, directly surrounding the planned airport site. Contracts are expected to be awarded in the second quarter of 2026. Procurement is open to contractors that signed a framework agreement with CPK in April 2025. Bids can be submitted until 16 February 2026.

The road program has been divided into three main contract packages. The first includes construction of the eastern access road linking the future CPK East junction to the A2 motorway at the Baranów interchange. The second package covers the eastern bypass of the airport, connecting the northern airport bypass with the same CPK East junction. The third package includes the northern airport bypass and the upgrade of national road 50, alongside new motorway-style junctions and direct connections to the A2.

Together, the projects will deliver a high-capacity road system designed to ensure efficient access to the airport, integrate it with Poland’s national road network and improve transportation connectivity for neighboring communities.

The scope of works includes the construction of new high-standard road sections, modernization of existing routes, grade-separated intersections and junctions and infrastructure for local traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. Environmental protection measures such as noise barriers, along with modern road safety systems, are also included.

All projects will be delivered under a design and build model, with selected contractors responsible for preparing technical documentation, securing permits and executing construction. CPK says this approach is intended to shorten delivery timelines and improve coordination between design and construction phases.

The road program forms a critical part of the wider Port Polska development, which also includes the construction of the new airport, a high-speed rail network, logistics facilities and an airport city development. Construction of the passenger terminal is scheduled to begin in 2026 with deep foundation works, while the underground railway station and tunnel are expected to be completed by 2029.

The road network is scheduled to open in 2031 alongside the first section of the high-speed rail line linking Warsaw and Łódź, ahead of the airport’s planned launch in 2032.
