Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) has opened two new skybridges as part of its Terminal Lobby Expansion project.

The pedestrian skybridges link the fifth floor of the Hourly Deck with the third level of the terminal lobby. They have been constructed under an expansive 146,000-square-foot glass canopy.

The new skybridges complement the existing underground walkways to offer travellers seamless and weather-protected access between the structures.

We are thrilled to mark another milestone in the Terminal Lobby Expansion project with the opening of the two skybridges. Pedestrians will experience enhanced safety with efficient access to the terminal away from traffic and ensuring smoother vehicle traffic flow. These enhancements underscore our commitment to providing a first-class passenger experience.

The Terminal Lobby Expansion project at CLT is now in phase five of six. It is scheduled for completion in 2025.

This project aims to transform the terminal, which was built in 1982, to accommodate 2.8 million travellers a year.
