Stäubli, a Swiss robot and connector manufacturer, today announced expanded U.S. production of fluid connectors used in data centers. The investment in Duncan, South Carolina, is part of the company's conscious effort to be closer to its customers.

North American Supply Chain Director Alina Secord said the U.S. expansion has been in the works for more than a year. Stäubli also makes the product line in Faverges, France and Hangzhou, China.

The non-spill fluid connectors are adapted to connect cold plates with manifolds in thermal management applications. The compact, quick disconnects can be integrated into data centers or supercomputers.

According to the company, colored rings help identify the input and output circuits to ensure a reliable, sealed and secured connection between cooling circuits.

The components are made onsite in a clean room. The first batch of American-made and assembled parts were shipped on February 28, 2025.

The start of production included a gate sign-off following a formal review and approval from Stäubli's quality, R&D, and industrialization counterparts in France.

Stäubli North America has more than 200 employees supporting the company's electrical connector, fluid connectors, robotics and textile divisions. The company's North American headquarters in Duncan opened in 1979.
