Astec Industries
launched the A50
jaw crusher
as the first model in its new A-series line.
Astec says the A50 is designed for high performance in demanding primary applications, offering new features to enhance safety in operation and maintenance.
“The A50 jaw crusher is a true representation of what we can achieve through our OneAstec [new product development] strategy,” says
Stephen Whyte
, vice president of product management at Astec. “By bringing together the best engineering expertise and proven designs from across our legacy brands, we’ve created a machine that represents both our legacy and establishes a new benchmark in future jaw crusher design. The A50 sets a new standard in crushing performance and is the start of an exciting new chapter in crushing technology.”

The A50 jaw crusher features a keyed and bolted frame, rather than welded joints, which enhances structural integrity and long-term durability, according to Astec. Additionally, the company says solid side plates boost reliability and add strength where required.
A cast swing jaw and angled wear plate prevent material bridging and strengthen high-stress zones for superior performance under heavy loads, Astec adds. Longer liners with improved nip angle maximize material grip, reduce wear and increase crushing efficiency.
Astec says operators can extend wear part life, simplify maintenance and lower operating costs with interchangeable fixed and swing liners on the A50. Interchangeable toggle assemblies eliminate heavy wedges and side plate cutouts for fast, safe adjustment and quick resets after an uncrushable event.
The A50 also features high-inertia flywheels for reduced horsepower requirements and higher capacity, as well as rubber mounts that isolate crushing forces, reduce stress on chassis frames and mounting structures.
The A-Series jaw crusher will be on display March 3-7 at
ConExpo-Con/Agg
in Astec’s Central Hall booth (C30236) of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
