USA, Utah: Excelsior Energy Capital has successfully commissioned the 525-MW Faraday Solar Farm in Utah County, marking one of the largest solar projects in the western United States. The project, completed in under two years, will deliver carbon-free electricity to the grid through a 20-year power purchase agreement with Meta Inc., offsetting the energy needs of its data centre operations.

Featuring 1.2 million solar panels, the Faraday Solar Farm strengthens local energy security while contributing to broader decarbonisation goals. Harvard research indicates that expanding solar generation nationwide by 15 % could cut annual CO₂ emissions from electricity production by up to 8.5 million tons.

Chris Frantz of Excelsior Energy Capital said, “Successful delivery of this landmark project reaffirms our commitment to enabling others to reach their clean energy objectives and support a reliable, decarbonised grid.” Projects like Faraday Solar are expected to help stabilise electricity costs and enhance grid resilience amid increasing energy demand.

The Faraday Solar Farm reflects the rapid expansion of solar in the United States, with installations expected to double by 2030. By combining utility-scale solar generation with corporate power agreements, projects such as this provide both environmental and economic benefits, while accelerating the transition to sustainable electricity.
