REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has issued a request for proposal to develop a 2,000 MW intrastate transmission system for evacuating power from a proposed solar park located in Ryapte village, Tumkur district, Karnataka.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of the project includes the development of two substations of 400/220 kV capacity at Ryapte and Doddathaggalli (near Hoskote), along with multiple 400 kV and 220 kV double-circuit transmission lines. The project also involves establishing terminal bays at existing substations located in Kolar, Malur, Ekarajapura, Hosakote New, and Sarjapura. The bidders are required to submit a bid bond of Rs 197.8 million. Selected bidders will be responsible for completing all aspects of the project, including survey, financing, obtaining necessary approvals, land coordination, construction, as well as operations and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure. The project will be executed under the build, own, operate, and transfer model and must be commissioned within 24 months. The deadline for bid submission is August 12, 2025.
According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must have experience in developing infrastructure or executing engineering, procurement, and construction work worth at least Rs 9.89 billion, with a minimum of one project valued at Rs 1.97 billion completed in the last five years. They must also possess a net worth of at least Rs 3.95 billion in any of the last three financial years.
