A major fire broke out late Friday in the 280-meter Marina Pinnacle tower in Dubai Marina, prompting the safe evacuation of all 3,820 residents from 764 apartments, according to the Dubai Media Office (DMO). Dubai Civil Defence teams battled the blaze for six hours, with no injuries reported.
Authorities are coordinating with the building's developer to provide temporary housing, while medical and mental health support has been made available on-site.
Originally completed in 2011, this is reportedly not the first fire at this building. In 2015, a kitchen fire was started on the 47th floor and spread to one additional floor before being contained.
