Signature Aviation has begun construction on a $10 million project, which includes 22,000 ft.2 of hangar space at Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport in Virginia.

The project includes an attached 3,000 ft.2 office facility and a 14-bay parking lot. The hangar is designed with a 28 ft. high hangar door to accommodate a broad range of new and larger business jets entering service today. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.

A broader investment program includes rebuilding its fuel storage facility. In December 2025, Signature also completed installation of a self-serve avgas fuel pump.

“General aviation plays a key role in the economic health of our region, spurring growth through global air connectivity for the Roanoke Valley and far beyond,” Roanoke Regional Airport Commission President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Stewart said. “We’re thrilled with Signature’s commitment to building new facilities that will support the growing demand for first-class corporate aviation hangar space and services at ROA.”

Signature’s presence at the airport goes back to Piedmont Aviation in 1957. The development is part of Signature’s 2024 bid to continue serving Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport, executives said.

Signature operates a network of private aviation terminals with more than 200 locations in 27 countries.
