TRIANGLE Tyre have introduced EnsureX Efficient Technology, a new bonding and structural protection technology for their giant off-the-road (OTR) tyres.
The first production batch manufactured with this technology has been shipped from Triangle Tyre’s Huasheng plant in Weihai, China, via Qingdao Port to the Deo Nai coal mine in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam.
Giant OTR tyres are critical components for mining and quarrying equipment such as rigid dumptrucks and large wheel loaders, where durability and reliability are essential to operational efficiency and safety. Performance requirements vary significantly depending on operating conditions, and factors such as climate, haul-road quality and load cycles play a critical role in tyre service life.
In regions with hot and humid climates, such as Southeast Asia, giant OTR tyres can have a short service life and a high wear rate. Open-pit lignite mines in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh region can see temperatures reach 40
C, with the rainy season lasting up to six months, and humidity exceeding 80%.
Triangle Tyre say their EnsureX Efficient Technology, which was developed over three years, effectively resolves the long-standing industry challenge of adhesion failure between rubber polymers and steel cords in heavy-duty OTR tyres. With this technology applied, delamination failures in the new generation of giant OTR tyres are, claims the company, reduced by ‘more than 95%, while tyre service life is extended by over 15%.’
The innovative technology – an ultra-high-performance cobalt-free formulation combined with a coordinated coated steel-cord adhesion system – is said to eliminate cobalt and deliver ‘outstanding fatigue resistance, enhanced ageing resistance, and long-lasting corrosion protection.'
At present, 49in and 57in tyre series produced with EnsureX Efficient Technology have successfully passed rigorous mining site testing.
Triangle Tyre say that the successful application of this ultimate bonding and protection system marks another ‘revolution’ in giant OTR tyre technology, while further consolidating the business’s reputation for high-end OTR tyre technologies.
