The agreement, which carries a three-year extension option, covers Aramco’s oil and gas operations, refining, petrochemical facilities and lower-carbon hydrogen projects.

Wood will draw on a team of approximately 900 employees based in-kingdom, working in conjunction with its Reading office in the UK to deliver engineering design work across what is one of the most extensive upstream and downstream investment programmes in the world.

The contract builds on a collaboration spanning more than 30 years between the two companies. In 2024, Wood won a significant engineering services contract for Aramco’s Southern and Northern Areas gas increments project, targeting expanded gas production capacity across eastern Saudi Arabia. The new Long-Term Agreement represents a step up in the scope and duration of that relationship, cementing Wood’s position as one of Aramco’s core engineering partners at a time when the Kingdom is accelerating domestic energy infrastructure investment to restore and grow output following the disruption caused by the Iran war.

Saudi Aramco has been ramping up capital spending across its oil, gas and downstream network. The agreement positions Wood to capture work across multiple project phases over a sustained period rather than on a project-by-project basis, providing the contract visibility that engineering firms operating in the region have been seeking as the Kingdom’s long-term investment programme continues to grow.
