In Short : Cosmic PV Power has signed an MoU with Indygreen Technologies at REI 2025 to set up a 2 GW lithium-ion battery production line for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The facility, expected by March 2026, marks Cosmic PV’s entry into energy storage manufacturing, complementing its solar cell expansion in Madhya Pradesh and supporting India’s renewable growth.

In Detail :Cosmic PV Power has taken a major step towards diversification by entering the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indygreen Technologies during the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025 to establish a 2 GW lithium-ion battery production line. This marks a strategic milestone in India’s clean energy transition.

The collaboration signifies Cosmic PV’s expansion beyond solar module and cell manufacturing, aligning with its goal of becoming a fully integrated renewable energy solutions provider. The planned 2 GW production line will enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities and help address the growing need for efficient energy storage solutions across India’s rapidly developing renewable energy ecosystem.

According to the agreement, the new BESS production facility is expected to be commissioned by March 2026. Once operational, it will play a crucial role in supporting large-scale renewable projects, stabilizing grid operations, and promoting clean energy adoption. The initiative reinforces the commitment of both companies to innovation and sustainable growth in India’s energy sector.

Cosmic PV Power recently secured nearly 60 acres of land in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh, to establish a 4 GW solar cell manufacturing line. The addition of energy storage manufacturing will complement this investment, enabling the company to offer end-to-end solar and storage solutions under one roof. This integrated approach is expected to enhance efficiency and cost competitiveness.

With this expansion, Cosmic PV aims to support India’s mission to achieve energy independence and net-zero emissions by 2070. Battery energy storage is increasingly being recognized as a key enabler for renewable integration, providing reliability, flexibility, and backup power. The new manufacturing line will help reduce dependence on imported storage systems and strengthen the domestic supply chain.

Indygreen Technologies, known for its expertise in energy storage and technology innovation, will collaborate closely with Cosmic PV on system design, production processes, and quality assurance. The partnership is expected to leverage advanced lithium-ion cell technologies to deliver high-performance battery solutions tailored for diverse applications, from grid-scale storage to commercial and industrial use.

The timing of this announcement at REI 2025 underscores the industry’s momentum toward integrated clean energy manufacturing. With growing demand for renewable energy and storage, India’s manufacturing landscape is rapidly evolving. Projects like this will accelerate industrial growth, foster innovation, and create employment opportunities in emerging green technology sectors.

The companies believe their collaboration will contribute to making India a global hub for advanced energy storage manufacturing. By developing localized technology and production capabilities, they aim to enhance cost efficiency, promote sustainability, and strengthen India’s position in the global renewable supply chain. The project also aligns with government initiatives promoting “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Overall, Cosmic PV Power’s entry into the BESS sector represents a transformative move in its growth journey. Through strategic partnerships, technological innovation, and integrated manufacturing, the company is positioning itself as a leader in India’s renewable energy landscape. The collaboration with Indygreen Technologies is expected to pave the way for a cleaner, smarter, and more self-reliant energy future.
