Ford Motor Company, a subsidiary of Ford Energy and EDF Power Solutions North America have signed a five-year framework agreement for large-scale battery energy storage (BESS) procurement in US. Under the agreement, EDF may procure up to 4 GWh of DC Block BESS annually from Ford Energy. The partnership represents a total potential deployment volume of up to 20 GWh over the five-year term. The BESS deliveries are expected to commence in 2028.

Furthermore, Ford Energy’s DC Block is a standardised 20-foot containerised energy storage system with a rated capacity of 5.45 MWh per unit. The system uses 512 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells and is available in both 2-hour and 4-hour discharge configurations. It operates within a voltage range of 1,040-1,500 VDC and features integrated liquid-cooled thermal management technology. 

In December 2025, EDF power solutions Canada and Énergie Renouvelable Granit Inc announced that the Haute-Chaudière wind project in Quebec, Canada has secured non-recourse construction and term financing. The 124 MW project received the funding from a group of lenders that includes National Bank of Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Desjardins Group, KfW IPEX-Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank.
