Kuwait Awards $110 M Substation Deal

Kuwait: Public Authority for Housing Welfare has awarded a contract for a 400/132/11 kV main substation under Tender No. M.E.R.S / M / 1474 – 2025/2026, linked to the Affordable Housing Project.

The contract has been granted to Kuwait-based contractor Al-Ahleia Switchgear Company. The total value stands at $110.2 M (KWD 39.9 M).

The scope of work includes full design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the high-voltage substation located within the housing development area.

The new substation is expected to play an important role in strengthening the power infrastructure for the large-scale residential project. It will ensure a reliable electricity supply to meet the increasing needs of the community as development progresses.

The project forms part of Kuwait’s broader strategy to expand its housing sector and improve essential infrastructure, supporting long-term urban growth and residential expansion.
