Designed to install subsea cables for offshore windfarms and interconnections projects, Nexans Electra was named earlier in 2026 and has now joined the company’s fleet as a fully commissioned asset.

With a length of 149.9 m and breadth of 31 m, Nexans Electra has three turntables with a combined capacity of 13,500 tonnes and the capability to lay up to four cables simultaneously.

The vessel is also equipped with a suite of subsea installation tools, including burial and protection systems and has a hybrid power system compatible with biodiesel blends, supporting reduced operational emissions.

Nexans Electra enters service as demand for the manufacture and installation of subsea cables hits record levels, driven by rapid expansion of offshore wind and the growing need for cross-border power interconnections.
