London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is launching a brand-new family ticket offering, which aims to make rail travel more affordable and convenient for families planning days out and holidays across its network.

Its new Family Advance Fare provides a fixed-price ticket for £22 on travel between Birmingham and London, for family groups of up to two adults and four children aged between five and 15.

Available to book up to 12 weeks in advance, the new product gives families greater confidence when planning journeys, with one simple fare covering the whole group.

The Advance Family Fare has been introduced to help families access affordable rail travel at a time when many households are actively looking for better value leisure experiences. LNR’s commissioned research identified families as an important audience for future growth, revealing a strong appetite for rail options that better meet the needs of family travellers.

Using these findings, the dedicated Family Advance product offers greater value, flexibility and ease for families planning journeys across the LNR network. Its fixed-price structure means customers can benefit from the same fare whether travelling as a family of three or a family of six – and children under five continue to travel free of charge.

The new offering is available on selected LNR routes, and as with standard Advance tickets, availability is limited, and customers are encouraged to book early to secure the best value.

Sara Paoloni, a representative from London Northwestern Railway, said: “We know families are always looking for affordable ways to travel together, particularly during school holidays and weekends away. Launching our new Advance Family Fare supports our ongoing commitment to providing value for families across our network.

“The offer makes planning a trip easier, by offering one simple fixed price for the whole family. Whether customers are heading into London for a day out, visiting friends and relatives, or exploring destinations across our network, this new ticket provides a convenient and cost-effective travel option.”

Customers can book Advance Family tickets up to 12 weeks before travel via the LNR and WMR website and app. Prices may vary dependent on location. For more information, visit here.
