Eti Alüminyum focused on value added production in 2025

The company aimed to develop more advanced and strategic production capabilities across aluminum’s wide range of applications, from the defense industry to high end industrial uses.

As Türkiye’s only primary

producer, Eti Aluminyum restructured its production capacity in 2025 around product diversity and technical expertise, while also strengthening its manufacturing capabilities for strategic sectors. Production activities carried out in Seydişehir for more than half a century were supported by investments focused on R&D, efficiency, and sustainability.

Evaluating the company’s 2025 performance, Eti Aluminyum General Manager Mehmet Arkan made the following remarks:

“Aluminum is no longer merely an industrial input; it is a strategic building block for many fields ranging from defense and energy to advanced technologies and the green transition. In 2025, our focus was on strengthening the production and technology infrastructure that will position Eti Aluminum at the center of this transformation. We believe that the steps we are taking today through our rolling mill investment, R&D projects, and green energy initiatives will create higher added value, stronger competitiveness, and a more sustainable industrial structure in the years ahead. With this vision, we aim to transform Eti Aluminyum into a production powerhouse capable of meeting not only today’s needs but also those of the future.”

One of Eti Aluminyum’s most significant investment initiatives was the ongoing construction of its new rolling mill in 2025. With a total investment exceeding TL 10 billion, the facility is planned to be commissioned in its initial phase with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons, which is targeted to increase to 200,000–250,000 tons in subsequent phases.Through this rolling mill investment, Eti Aluminyum aims to produce hot and cold rolled aluminum products domestically, which are of critical importance for the defense industry, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The project is expected to reduce Türkiye’s dependence on imports of flat aluminum products, prevent approximately USD 600 million in annual imports, and support long-term employment and economic activity in Seydişehir.

Eti Aluminyum , continued to strengthen in addition to capacity investments, its production capabilities through R&D activities in 2025. As a result of these efforts, a special aluminum production line was commissioned. With a targeted annual capacity of 40,000 tons, this line has enabled the domestic production of this critical raw material requiring high purity and durability for strategic sectors such as defense, ceramics, and thermal insulation.Within the scope of R&D studies, a pilot production process for recovering lithium from bauxite residue generated during aluminum production was also successfully completed. In addition, testing processes are ongoing for the domestic production of catalysts used in the petrochemical industry, with the aim of manufacturing this critical, currently imported input in Türkiye if favorable results are achieved.

Eti Aluminyum strengthened its green transformation strategy by integrating its production activities with energy investments in 2025. In addition to the existing 189 MW of installed solar power capacity in Seydişehir, solar power plants with capacities of 95 MW in Gaziantep and 4 MW in Çumra were commissioned. With the planned 42 MW solar power plant investment in Sivas, the company aims to increase its total installed solar capacity to 330 MW.These renewable energy investments constitute a core pillar of Eti Aluminyum’s long-term “green aluminum” vision, which seeks to supply all of the electricity used in production from clean energy sources. This transformation process, which began with the Oymapınar Hydroelectric Power Plant, is being expanded through solar energy investments with the aim of permanently strengthening a low-carbon production approach.

Eti Aluminyum continued to support its low-carbon production approach strengthened through renewable energy investments by implementing environmentally responsible practices in the field in 2025. In line with this approach, 37,900 saplings were planted as part of activities carried out on November 11, National Afforestation Day. It is estimated that these saplings will remove approximately 490 tons of carbon from the atmosphere annually throughout their growth cycle.

Alongside its investments in production and technology in 2025, Eti Aluminyum continued its efforts to develop qualified human capital. Within the scope of the Industry Z.0 Program carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, scholarship, internship, and hands on training support was provided to students of Seydişehir Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Since the launch of the program, 200 students have completed internships at the facilities, while 180 students have received scholarship support. Supported by the mentorship of Eti Aluminyum engineers, the program continues as a sustainable model that strengthens industry school cooperation and enables young people to engage directly with production processes.

Drawing strength from Seydişehir, Eti Aluminyum aims to create long-term value for Türkiye’s industry through a holistic approach spanning production, R&D, energy, and human resources.
