Great Lakes Filters Expands Converting Capabilities With New Duplex Slitter

The new equipment is designed to enhance speed, precision and cost efficiency for a wide range of filtration and industrial textile applications. Specialising in narrow slit widths, the Duplex Slitter can process virtually any material width and is compatible with textiles, non-wovens, films and laminates. High-accuracy cutting helps minimise material waste, while high-speed operation increases throughput and shortens lead times.

The addition strengthens the companies’ ability to support customers from product design through cutting, sewing, sealing and final fabrication, offering a full end-to-end converting solution.

With more than 80 years of experience, Great Lakes Filters supplies industrial filtration solutions for demanding applications, while Fairway Products provides complementary custom fabrication services including cutting, sewing, welding and assembly. Together, they produce a broad range of products such as filter roll media, absolute-rated and micron-rated filtration media, laboratory filtration discs, filter bags, dust collector cartridges, filter press cloths and specialty felts.

The expanded slitting and converting capabilities support applications across filtration, medical and hygiene, agriculture, heavy materials and industrial manufacturing. The new Duplex Slitter joins an existing equipment lineup that includes CNC systems, presses, sheeters, slit-and-reroll lines, ultrasonic and RF welding systems, and hot and cold cutting technologies, further strengthening the companies’ textile filtration converting offering.
