Assa Abloy has acquired Sentinel Dock & Door, a commercial dock and door service company based in Canada. The acquisition continues a string of purchases for the Swedish-based global leader in access solutions, specializing in locks, doors and security technologies.

Sentinel was founded in 1983 and has roughly 375 employees. The Ontario-based company operates an acquisition platform that provides tools, training and operational support for dock and door service companies. As part of the acquisition, it will merge into Assa Abloy’s entrance systems division.

“The acquisition of Sentinel significantly strengthens our direct channel presence, including service, and broadens our footprint across Canada,” says Massimo Grassi, executive vice president of Assa Abloy and head of its entrance systems division.” With their strong, service-oriented business and well-established operational platform, we are well-positioned to accelerate growth in the market.”

Sentinel sales for 2025 amounted to about $99 million with a good EBIT margin.
