InteriorThe global market for door opening solutions, physical security and access control was strong during the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, states Assa Abloy in its Q2 2026 Quarterly Report. Officials for the manufacturer and servicer of mechanical and digital locks, automated doors and biometrics note the company achieved higher sales, earnings and profitability in Q2 2026.
According to the report, Assa Abloy’s organic sales growth rose to 4%, compared to 3% in the same quarter last year, operating margins reached a record level, and acquisitions added 2% to the company’s sales.
“Despite continued challenging and uncertain market conditions, our organic growth accelerated and reached 4%, complemented by 2% growth from acquisitions, while currencies remained a headwind of –3%,” says Nico Delvaux, president and CEO. “Strong organic operating leverage contributed to a record-high adjusted operating margin for the quarter.”
Region Breakdown
Delvaux states the company’s organic sales growth during Q2 rose 5% in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, driven by strong growth in Central Europe and in the Nordic region. The Americas division grew 4%, supported by increased growth in the non-residential market and Latin America. The company’s global technologies division also grew by 4%, with strong sales growth in most areas, partly offset by weaker project-related businesses in Europe.
The company’s entrance systems segment reported growth of 4%, driven by pedestrian and perimeter security products. Organic sales in the Asia Pacific region declined 4% due to the weak sales in the China and Southeast Asia business units.
Acquisitions
Assa Abloy completed five acquisitions with combined annual sales of approximately $207 million during the quarter. By the end of June, the company had completed eight acquisitions in 2026.
“Acquisitions remain an important complement to organic growth, also sometimes enabling step changes in our product portfolio and technological capabilities,” explains Delvaux. “During the quarter, we completed our 400th acquisition since our inception, Rollerdoor Group, a sectional door manufacturer based in Portugal. By the end of June, we had acquired eight businesses in 2026. Our acquisition pipeline remains strong, with more than 900 companies included in our target list.”
