machineryEpiroc introduced the SmartROC T30 RX, a surface radio remote drill rig built on the same platform as the SmartROC T25 R and SmartROC T30 R.
According to Epiroc, the new construction and quarrying rig is designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce environmental footprint.
The company says the RX rig has a more robust feed and boom system designed to expand hole range. It has 19-kW drilling power, 129-kW engine power and a flushing capacity of 105 liters per second.
The SmartROC T30 RX is equipped with the COP SC19 HE rock drill.
“Thanks to the extra power, we can now offer T51 tools and 102-mm drilling,” says Marcus Leü, global product manager at Epiroc. With an impressive hole range of 64 to 102 mm, this rig will be perfect also for larger infrastructure projects as highways or hydroelectric plants.”
The rig is equipped with a 95- to 30-degree feed swing and a 34- to 39-degree swing radius, which, combined with a 4.7-meter boom system, gives the rig a coverage area of 13 square meters.
The SmartROC T30 RX is equipped with the Epiroc rig control system (RCS), which supports onboard automation solutions. An automated rod handling system can add drill rods manually or automatically to reach the desired hole depth.
The RCS also enables access to the Epiroc-developed hole navigation system, which is designed to improve hole accuracy and operational safety.
“Together with the rig control system, which supports your operation with automation features and helpful drilling logs, this rig can deliver terrific productivity, Leü says.
