MiningArkle Resources has announced that its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme at the Erongo Uranium Project in Namibia is progressing smoothly and has been expanded to include additional targets.
The initial phase involved approximately 1,500 metres of drilling on EPL8995, with 52 holes completed totaling 1,017 metres. Visual logging of drill chips has identified carnottite, a secondary uranium mineral and the primary ore mineral in regional surficial uranium deposits, in three holes across two fence lines, at depths ranging from 4 to 15 metres. However, laboratory assays are pending to confirm uranium content.
To date, 1,016 one-metre samples have been collected under strict QA/QC protocols. Selected intervals will be sent to Actlabs in Windhoek for detailed laboratory analysis. Complementing this, downhole gamma ray spectrometer surveying has commenced and will assist in targeting intervals for assay submission alongside geological logging.
The programme’s operational efficiency has allowed Arkle to expand drilling activities while the rig and field team remain mobilised. The expanded scope now includes the western paleochannel target previously mapped by HLEM, step-out holes on the eastern paleochannel target, and the first drill test of the primary ULG target exposed by recent trenching.
Chief Executive Rory Harding commented, “The decision to expand the programme reflects both our operational efficiency and the opportunity to test our two principal uranium target styles within a single field season. Shareholders can expect a steady flow of news throughout the second half of 2026 as we receive and interpret results.”
First assay results from the drilling programme are anticipated in early September 2026. Arkle emphasizes that no conclusions regarding grade or continuity can be drawn until all laboratory results have been validated and reported.
