Bryan Construction has named a new chief financial officer.

The Colorado Springs, Colorado-based builder appointed Kristi Rader to the top finance position, according to a Monday announcement from the builder. Prior to the promotion in January, Rader was the firm’s director of accounting.

Rader joined the Bryan Construction team in September 2023, per her LinkedIn. She left her role as controller at Norwood Development Group, a real estate developer focused on multifamily and community projects, according to the firm’s website. Rader brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience to the position, per the release.

In her role as CFO, Rader will oversee Bryan Construction’s financial strategy, reporting and controls, cash flow and treasury operations alongside risk management, according to the news release. Rader will also lead the accounting, human resources and information technology teams.

Rader’s appointment follows the retirement of Vince Shoemaker, former CFO for Bryan Construction, who worked for the company for 27 years, per the release. He stepped away in December, according to a post on the firm’s Facebook page.

Bryan Construction reported approximately $377 million in 2024 revenue, according to Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 contractors list. It takes jobs across markets that include data centers and advanced manufacturing builds; federal work on mission critical and defense jobs; and multifamily apartment projects, per its website.

The appointments also reflect Bryan Construction’s growth ambitions across the federal and commercial construction markets, per the release.

Colorado represents the second-largest space economy in the nation, according to the Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corp., with more than 150 aerospace companies located in the area. The industry, which has grown up around five military installations in the region, including the U.S. Air Force Academy, represents $3.1 billion in annual economic impact.

Bryan Construction told Construction Dive via email that it planned to use Colorado Springs’ location as a springboard for both local and national clients.

“With Colorado Springs serving as a national hub for aerospace and defense, BCI is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the region’s prominence, serving clients both locally and nationwide,” said Gina Campbell, marketing and communications manager at Bryan, in an email. “The company’s expertise in delivering secure, mission-critical facilities for federal agencies and defense contractors allows it to meet the stringent requirements of these markets.”

Against that backdrop, Rader said she’s ready for expansion at the company.

“My focus is on building strong financial systems that support our people, strengthen our operations and position Bryan Construction for the next chapter of growth,” Rader said in the news release.
