Donjon Marine has won an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Naval Sea Systems Command (NavSea) covering salvage, emergency response and heavy-lift operations.

The contract, managed by the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving, carries an estimated total ceiling value of US$215M and covers the provision of these services in Zone A.

This encompasses the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Black Sea, Baltic Sea and the Suez Canal, together with all harbours and navigable waters of rivers draining to the coastlines within these areas, including the Mississippi River and the Great Lakes.

The Hillside, New Jersey-headquartered company said the contract “covers a broad scope of operational and non-operational services,” including emergency response and salvage-related towing, harbour clearance, heavy lifting, point-to-point towage and ocean engineering support.

Under the terms of the contract, Donjon will maintain the capability to undertake at least two simultaneous operations across this zone and meet strict response-time requirements for emergency situations, while complying with all applicable cabotage laws in each operational region.

“This award is a testament to our readiness to support critical US Navy missions around the world,” said Donjon chief executive, John A Witte. “We will deliver high-level salvage and marine services wherever and whenever they are needed.”

Donjon Marine provided wreck removal operations in 2024 to reopen the commercial shipping channel in the Patapsco River, following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge after it was struck by powerless container ship Dali.

In Q4 2025, Donjon Marine was acquired by Miami, Florida-headquartered investment group Tallvine Partners, which has kept the company’s existing management in place and is providing finance to expand its marine, shipbuilding and salvage services.

According to Tallvine’s partners, this deal will lead to further investment in Donjon’s fleet and its expansion into new geographic markets.
