Power PlantLaser Power and Infra Limited has received a letter of intent (LoI) worth Rs 41.5 million from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for a turnkey high temperature low sag (HTLS) reconductoring project in the Nalagarh Electrical Division of Himachal Pradesh.
The project entails replacement of conventional transmission conductors with HTLS conductors to enhance transmission capacity while utilising the existing transmission towers. The order marks Laser Power’s first commercial deployment of advanced conductor technology under its manufacturing agreement with TS Conductor Corporation, USA, signed in March 2025. The project will use aluminium encapsulated carbon core conductors (AECC) manufactured by the company in India using TS Conductor’s proprietary pre-tensioned carbon fibre composite core technology. According to the company, this is expected to be the first commercial deployment of TS Conductor’s AECC technology in India using domestically manufactured conductors.
