The Queensland Government has released updated designs for the new Beenleigh station precinct, marking another step towards a more reliable and better-connected rail network for South East Queensland.

The upgrade forms part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, which will double rail tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh, increasing capacity, improving reliability and reducing travel times between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The new Beenleigh station will be relocated approximately 650 metres north, closer to the town centre and key community facilities, creating a more accessible and integrated precinct for commuters and local businesses.

The updated design reflects community feedback and includes improved walking and cycling connections, a new bus interchange and an expanded park ‘n’ ride facility.

Importantly, relocating the station allows construction to proceed while keeping the existing station operational, minimising disruption for commuters during delivery.

The precinct will also include local road upgrades and improved traffic flow, supporting the growing Beenleigh community and surrounding suburbs.

Queenslanders can view the updated design and provide feedback until 31 May.

Queensland Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Brent Mickelberg, said the release of the updated design was about delivering a fresh start for commuters in one of the state’s fastest-growing regions.

“The Queensland Government is committed to getting on with the job of delivering the infrastructure Queenslanders need,” Mickelberg said.

“We said we would build a more reliable transport network for Queensland and that’s exactly what we are doing with projects like Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail.

“The new precinct will support more frequent and reliable services, reduce congestion on the network and make it easier for people to get where they need to go.”

The upgraded Beenleigh station precinct is jointly funded by the Queensland Government and the Australian Government.
