One of his notable assignments was serving as Divisional Railway Manager of the Dhanbad Division under East Central Railway. During his tenure, the division achieved the highest freight loading and freight earnings among all divisions of Indian Railways, highlighting his strong administrative and operational capabilities.

Additionally, he also served as Chairman and Managing Director of IRCON International Limited, a major railway infrastructure company.

Contributions to Track Technology and Maintenance:

Bansal has played a significant role in technological advancements related to railway track monitoring and maintenance. While working in the Track Machines Directorate of RDSO, he contributed to the development of track recording systems used for monitoring track conditions.
