Essential track works in Fleetwood later this month will see tram services terminate at the Fisherman’s Walk stop for up to three weeks.

Although the Fleetwood Ferry, Victoria Street and London Street tram stops will be closed to make way for vital maintenance ahead of the busy summer season, a 15-minute service will continue to run between Fisherman’s Walk and Starr Gate, south of Blackpool town centre.

Steve Staley, Tramway Operations and Safety Manager at Blackpool Transport, explained: “In advance of the works, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience to customers who will need to complete journeys to the ferry by using our Service 1 and 14 buses from the start of the works on Sunday, March 15.

“This investment in upgrades to the line will help ensure more reliable and comfortable services in the future as we continue to make improvements across the network.

Although the remainder of the network will continue to operate in line with the current timetable, details of the service changes in Fleetwood can be found here: www.blackpooltransport.com/tram-track-upgrades-in-fleetwood.

“We will be working as quickly as possible to reopen this short section of the tramway as soon as we can and hope to restore a full service during the busy Easter holidays. In the meantime, we would also like to thank customers for their patience and understanding,” Steve added.
