railwayUnipart has launched a comprehensive new insight paper, ‘Optimising rail maintenance: Achieving high output and lower costs’, to address challenges facing the global rail industry.
Highlighting data, automation and rapid deployment, the publication introduces an alternative to conventional, resource-heavy track engineering – Unipart’s range of Construction, Maintenance and Renewal (CMR) machines.
The firm suggests that by shifting maintenance frameworks from traditional reactive models to predictive, data-led approaches, operators could solve labour shortages while significantly boosting network reliability.
The paper also outlines how to reduce passenger disruption and maximise tight possession windows. Unipart said that the deployment of high-output machinery designed for fast, consistent results on the tracks was key to this. It also highlights how these modernised practices drive net zero targets by cutting fuel consumption and minimising material waste.
The full insight paper can be downloaded here.
Unipart will be showcasing its innovations live at Rail Live on 17 and 18 June. Attendees can visit the Unipart team on Stand G10 to learn more and explore the future of rail infrastructure. Book a meeting with their team here.
The firm said it was committed to tackling the rail industry’s most critical challenges by delivering end-to-end solutions that span every stage of the network lifecycle. These services include intelligent design and quality manufacture, logistics and continuous optimisation, Unipart seamlessly designs, makes, moves, and improves components across its customers’ supply chains to keep rail networks running reliably.
