The event took place at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district and was attended by the President Droupadi Murmu, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Officials described the occasion as a demonstration of coordinated investment in strategic and local infrastructure. The ceremony underscored the state's emphasis on improving transport links.

The inaugurated projects included four National Highway initiatives valued at Rs 5.369 bn, namely the Nayagarh Bypass on NH-57, the Rigdol–Belgaon section on NH-59, the Reamal Bypass on NH-53 and the Kotpad Bypass on NH-63. In addition, five Roads and Buildings projects worth Rs 2.750 bn were opened, covering the Taladanda Canal right embankment road in Cuttack, the Ichhapur–Basudevpur road in Bhadrak, the Dhenkanal–Kaimati–Joranda road in Dhenkanal, the Bijepur–Dublabahal road in Bargarh and the Deobandha–Chandahandi via Fatki road in Nabarangapur. The mix of national and regional works reflected a balanced approach to connectivity.

Foundation stones were laid for three significant schemes valued at Rs 3.798 bn, including the Kathajodi high?level bridge in Cuttack, the Dhalpur–Harabhanga road in Boudh and the widening of the Nuapada–Ghatipada section of NH?353. Authorities indicated these investments will address bottlenecks on key corridors and support local access. The foundation work will proceed under phased implementation.

State authorities said the projects aim to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, improve road safety and accelerate economic growth across Odisha. The investment highlights an integrated effort to link national highways with local arterial roads and to improve the resilience of transport infrastructure. Implementation and maintenance plans were outlined by the Works Department to ensure timely completion.
