JSW Steel reported a softer fourth quarter, with crude steel production slipping 1% quarter-on-quarter and 3% year-on-year as operational upgrades weighed on output. The decline was largely linked to the ongoing blast furnace upgrade at its Vijayanagar plant, which affected quarterly production momentum.

Despite the Q4 dip, the company still delivered strong full-year performance. JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production for FY26 rose 8% to 30.14 million tonnes, compared with 27.79 million tonnes in FY25. Indian operations contributed 29.25 million tonnes, while the Ohio unit in the US added 0.83 million tonnes. The update shows that near-term output pressure has not derailed the company’s broader growth path.

JSW Steel faced a temporary production slowdown in the March quarter, but its annual numbers still reflect scale expansion, capacity improvement, and resilient operating strength in a competitive steel market.
