Germany’s Saarstahl has renewed a long-term supply agreement with Max Bögl Wind, extending a partnership that has supported wind-tower production since 2015. The updated deal increases both delivery and purchasing volumes, strengthening supply reliability as Europe accelerates new wind energy projects.

A key focus is prestressing steel wire produced by Saarstahl’s subsidiary DWK Drahtwerk Köln. This high-strength wire is used in hybrid wind turbine towers, where it helps “pre-stress” concrete sections—improving structural stability, durability, and resistance to heavy operational loads. As turbines grow larger and towers face tougher performance demands, consistent access to high-performance long steel products becomes critical for manufacturers.

Overall, the renewed agreement signals deeper strategic collaboration between the two companies and supports smoother planning for turbine tower output in the years ahead.
