Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL) has announced the successful completion of expansion activities at its Heavy Chemicals Division (HCD) plant. Operations at the upgraded facility are set to begin tomorrow, 28th March 2026.

The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has granted the company Consent to Operate for its expanded capacity of 250 tonnes per day (TPD) of Caustic Soda production at the HCD plant. This approval allows TPL to operate the plant and manage emissions in compliance with Section 21 of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 (as amended in 1987), as well as discharge sewage and trade effluent under Section 25 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (as amended in 1988).
