Service Stream and Ventia will oversee the maintenance of Yarra Valley Water’s civil infrastructure assets for the next nine years under a new contract.

The long-term Yarra Valley Water partners will also carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance services on sewer, water and treatment plant assets, including work on specialist equipment such as pumps, valves and electrical switchboards.

Recognised for its maintenance work alongside South East Water, SA Water and Sydney Water, Service Stream has supported Yarra Valley Water through capital delivery projects, meter reading services and asset reliability programs.

Ventia will continue as one of Yarra Valley Water’s long-term maintenance partners, bringing detailed knowledge of the network and a strong track record in safety, customer experience and rapid response services.

“Ventia is pleased to continue its partnership with Yarra Valley Water as we deliver reliable services for people and businesses within Yarra Valley Water’s service area,” Ventia managing director and group chief executive officer Dean Banks said.

“The team has already achieved strong results in customer experience and response times and, as we enter a new phase, we remain focused on transformational asset management and enhanced service delivery.”

Yarra Valley Water general manager – asset services Bridie Fennessy echoed Banks’ sentiments.

“We know how important reliable water and sanitation services are to the people we serve, and strengthening our partnerships with Service Stream and Ventia helps us keep delivering on that promise,” she said.

“We’ve built strong relationships over many years, and this next chapter is about working even more closely, sharing what we learn and finding smarter ways to maintain our network so our customers feel the benefits.”

The contract commences in October 2026.
