Contract partners, MGroup, are starting on site today to repair a bypass channel close to Redmires Road.
The Redmires Reservoirs resilience project is part of Yorkshire Water’s largest ever environmental investment of £8.3 billion over the next five years which focuses on large-scale infrastructure projects across the region to maintain safe, reliable water services, protecting the environment and improve service to customers.
Other reservoir remediation work is ongoing at Royd Moor Reservoir and at Walshaw Dean Lower and Middle Reservoirs, with work on Upper Walshaw Dean Reservoir expected to start later this year.
Mark Broady, senior project manager at Yorkshire Water, said:
“With this £4.3 million reservoir safety project, we’re investing now to make sure that Redmires Reservoirs continue to operate safely and reliably for many years to come.”
