Ottawa Backs Windsor-Essex Manufacturers With $20 Million In Funding

The federal government is investing over $20 million in 14 manufacturers in the Windsor-Essex region of Ontario to enhance technology adoption and productivity. Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Evan Solomon announced the funding during a visit to Ennova Facades Inc., aimed at boosting competitiveness in the evolving global manufacturing landscape.

This investment is crucial for local manufacturers to modernize operations and remain competitive in a challenging market, ultimately benefiting the regional economy.

The federal government is providing more than $20 million to 14 manufacturers in the Windsor-Essex region in Ontario to support technology adoption, productivity upgrades and market expansion.

The announcement was made during a visit to Ennova Facades Inc., where Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, said the funding is intended to help companies strengthen competitiveness in a changing global manufacturing environment.

According to FedDev Ontario, the funding will support projects focused on automation, advanced equipment and process improvements across automotive, tooling, packaging and industrial manufacturing.

Ennova Facades will receive $4.5 million to expand its facility, add automated equipment and laboratory space and support the development of new building envelope products.
