The North American architectural glass industry remained lackluster in the waning months of 2025, notes NSG Group, which recently released its fiscal year 2026 third-quarter (Q3) earnings results.

The report shows that the glass manufacturer’s architectural glass division recorded a cumulative (nine months to December 2025) 10.3% increase in operating profit but a decrease (-1.4%) in revenue. In the third quarter, NSG’s architectural glass division reported an increase in revenue and profit, partially due to higher sales prices in Europe. In North America, the commercial market continues to be muted, though NSG managed to keep sales prices high by passing higher energy and raw material costs on to customers.

According to NSG’s report, architectural glass revenues increased in the Americas, but operating profit decreased for the cumulative period, while both showed better results in the third quarter. In North America, sales prices increased with price pass-through of higher energy and material costs, while lackluster commercial market conditions continued. Strong demand for solar energy glass remained high. In South America, sales volumes increased mostly in Argentina.

In Europe, architectural glass revenues and operating profit showed improvements. Sales prices improved from the previous year and remained stable during the third quarter. This was due to better supply and demand balance following the termination of float lines in the industry, including NSG, while demand recovery was slower than expected. At the same time, the stoppage of two float lines contributed to cost reduction, including improvement in asset utilization and fixed costs.

According to NSG’s estimates, the North American architectural glass market will remain volatile, while the European market will continue to improve. Additionally, the demand for solar energy glass will grow in the coming year. In particular:
