The Butajira-Werabe Power Transmission and Transformation Project is essential to improve the local power grid.

The Silte Zone Government of Ethiopia presented a certificate to the Butajira-Werabe Power Transmission and Transformation Project, contracted and built by POWERCHINA, in recognition of its high-quality project execution and performance.

This livelihood and energy infrastructure project in Ethiopia included the construction of the new Werabe Substation, the expansion of the Butajira Substation, and a 36-kilometer high-voltage transmission line. It serves as a major part of efforts to improve the local power grid and resolve regional power shortages.

Since construction began, the project team had advanced the work in a scientific and orderly manner. With exceptional professional capabilities and high execution efficiency, they completed the project construction and put it into operation within the designated timeframe. To date, the project has been operating stably for two years, providing reliable power support for local economic and social development.

This honor is a major recognition of the project's achievements by the Ethiopian government and its people, as well as high praise for POWERCHINA's execution capabilities. Moving forward, the POWERCHINA project team will continue to maintain high standards in subsequent operation and maintenance support, helping strengthen China-Ethiopia cooperation in the power sector and boosting local livelihoods and economic development.
