Hindustan Power has secured environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for its proposed 1,600 MW transitional power project at Anuppur in Madhya Pradesh.

The project will be developed as Phase-II of the company’s existing power facility and will comprise two units of 800 MW each. The company had commissioned Phase-I of the Anuppur project, with a capacity of 1,200 MW, between 2015 and 2016. The proposed expansion is expected to increase Hindustan Power’s installed capacity and support long-term power supply amid rising electricity demand and the need for grid stability alongside growing renewable energy integration.
