Recurrent Energy has inaugurated the Rey Solar project in Carmona, Seville, marking one of the largest solar installations in southern Spain and a significant milestone in the country’s clean energy expansion.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from the Regional Government of Andalusia, Carmona City Council, project partners, and other distinguished guests.

With an installed capacity of over 420 MWp, the Rey Solar project is expected to generate clean electricity at scale while contributing to regional economic development, community benefits, and biodiversity conservation efforts.

According to the company, the project will produce enough renewable energy to power more than 275,000 homes annually. It is also projected to offset approximately 184,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to removing around 25,000 combustion-engine vehicles from the road.

Recurrent Energy stated that the commissioning of Rey Solar represents a major step forward in Spain’s ongoing energy transition and reinforces its commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure globally.
