The government for the Indian federal state of Chhattisgarh has approved €1.1 billion (INR 110 billion) in funding for the Metro Neo project, which will connect Raipur, Nava Raipur and Durg. The 60 km corridor will link the centres of the three cities. The Metro Neo technology will operate on elevated and at-grade tracks with rubber-tyred metros and is suitable for medium-capacity lines. Funding will come from state and central government funds, support from development banks and investments from potential public-private partnerships (PPP).
