today announced 21 sites across 10 states have received a Select Site designation under its industrial development program.
The properties received gold, silver or bronze ratings based on an evaluation of a range of site characteristics, CSX officials said in a press release. Only one of the 21 obtained gold status: the Interstate 80 Logistics Park in Minooka, Illinois.
The Class I worked with more than 30 communities to gather information and identify top candidates for the CSX Select Site program, which connects expanding companies with rail-served properties. Of the more than 1,110 sites served by CSX, only 6% are designated as a Select Site, CSX officials said.
"Each CSX Select Site highlights the power of preparation and partnership,” said Kellen Riley, CSX senior director of industrial development. “These sites give manufacturers confidence to move forward while helping communities translate readiness into real economic growth and job creation.”
