The fresh allocation comes even as progress remains slow under two state-funded road infrastructure programmes, officials noted. The additional grant is intended to accelerate on-ground activity and supplement funds for routine and corrective maintenance.

City managers outlined plans to coordinate with traffic police to schedule works so as to minimise disruption and to sequence relaying on high-traffic corridors during off-peak periods. Engineers will monitor road condition and apply condition-based selection, prioritising stretches that have recorded recurrent waterlogging and surface failures. The authority will deploy resurfacing crews under the capital works plan with oversight from state agencies. The authority plans phased implementation to coordinate with utility repairs and to align with the monsoon schedule to reduce rework.
