Interpipe has called on the European Union to revise Ukraine’s seamless pipe quota under the new steel trade mechanism, citing concerns over incorrect statistical data.

The Ukrainian pipe and railway product producer said the current annual seamless pipe quota of 80,670 tonnes is at least 30% lower than it should be. The company claims some export volumes from the 2022–2024 reference period were not fully reflected.Interpipe also questioned whether Ukraine received the preferential treatment expected under EU rules. The company said Ukraine should not be treated like major exporters linked to global excess steel capacity.

Interpipe CEO Luca Zanotti urged the European Commission to correct the quota data by the end of Q3 2026, calling it important for Ukraine’s steel industry during the ongoing war.
