Jindal Steel is strengthening its senior management team as it seeks greater leadership stability and sharper operational execution. Managing Director Vidya Rattan Sharma has acknowledged concerns over frequent top-level exits but emphasised the strength of the company’s wider management network of nearly 1,800–2,000 professionals.
The steelmaker has appointed several experienced executives across finance, operations, human resources, sales and marketing. Key additions include Rajiv Kumar as chief operating officer and Sandeep Modi as chief financial officer. Roopali Mehra has also returned to lead sales and marketing.
The refreshed leadership team will focus on fully utilising Jindal Steel’s installed crude steel capacity of 15.6 million tonnes, reducing production costs and improving profitability through a stronger mix of value-added steel products. The company also plans to fund capital expenditure largely through internal earnings to avoid increasing pressure on its balance sheet.During the June quarter, consolidated revenue rose 25% year-on-year to ₹15,501 crore. However, net profit declined 44% to ₹844 crore due to higher raw material, interest and depreciation costs.
