GAIL (India) Limited has invited bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), along with operation and maintenance (O&M), of a 600 MW solar power project with a 550 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project is located at the TUSCO Solar Park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation trial and guarantee tests for a 600 MW solar photovoltaic project with a 275 MW/550 MWh BESS. The selected bidder will also be responsible for comprehensive O&M of the project for a period of five years. The bid submission deadline is August 20, 2026, and bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 260 million.

In April 2026, GAIL (India) Limited approved the development of 700 MW of solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra with a total investment of Rs 38,000 million.
