The Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) has invited bids for the selection of solar developers for 100 MW of behind-the-meter (BTM) rooftop solar projects in Maharashtra under the renewable energy service company model. The tender covers projects with and without battery energy storage systems (BESS). The project has been classified into four sub-categories. The deadline for bid submission is June 23, 2026.

According to the tender guidelines, the selected developers will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the projects, including site surveys, design and engineering, procurement of equipment, financing, installation, testing, commissioning, and grid synchronisation. The scope also includes obtaining statutory approvals, installing monitoring systems, and providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 25 years.

Additionally, for projects with BESS, developers must integrate battery storage with the solar system and ensure long-term battery performance through maintenance and replacement of components as needed. Interested bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 2,25,000 per MW for each project category in which they participate. Micro, small and medium enterprises with valid UDYAM registration are exempted.
