The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is holding a brand-new event next week which combines its Future of Rail series and Unlocking Innovation programme.

Delivered in partnership with Rail Freight Group and Network Rail, Future of Rail Freight: Growth, Innovation and Delivery takes place on Wednesday, 8 July, at The Milner in York.

Among the speakers due to attend includes Huw Merriman, Consultant at Rail Freight Group; Paul Harwood, Head of Freight at Network Rail; Kathryn Oldale, Commercial Director at DB Cargo; and Adam Parkinson, Commercial Rail Development Director at DP World.

The event is free to attend but registration is required, with limited places available. Click here for more details.

Dominic Poole, Senior Policy Executive at RIA, said: “Rail freight is a strategic economic asset for the UK economy, with scope to grow significantly through the Government’s growth target of 75 per cent by 2050.

“The event will explore what is needed to achieve this, and how Great British Railways, devolved authorities and the private sector will need to work together to deliver a world class freight service, all whilst showcasing the best of the UK rail freight sector.”

Alongside the conference, the exhibition will highlight new products, tools, and innovations that are shaping the next era of rail freight.

Attendees will be able to meet key clients, as well as major suppliers to the rail freight sector.
