Railway Children is calling on colleagues across the rail industry to sign up for its popular Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, taking place on 8 May 2026 and sponsored by Angel Trains.

The event follows the charity’s recent success in March, when a team of 12 rail industry participants reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest freestanding mountain above sea level.

Representing organisations from across the sector, the Kilimanjaro team included participants from Angel Trains, Avanti West Coast, Project Leaders, Advance TRS and Turner & Townsend.

Together, the group raised over £50,000, helping Railway Children protect vulnerable young people across the UK, Tanzania and India.

Remarkably, all 12 climbers will also take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, tackling the iconic summits of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent in the stunning Yorkshire Dales.

It’s not too late for you to take part too!

Over 70 people from across the rail industry have already registered for this popular annual event – and Railway Children is encouraging more individuals and teams from across the rail industry to join them. Whether you’re looking for a personal challenge, a teambuilding opportunity, or a chance to support a lifechanging cause, the charity’s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is open to all abilities.

Registration includes:

· Expert event and mountain support from Railway Children’s experienced team

· An exclusive Yorkshire Three Peaks T-shirt

· A commemorative Yorkshire Three Peaks medal

All event information and registration details are available at railwaychildren.org.uk/events/yorkshire-three-peaks/

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is just one of a series of fundraising events taking place throughout the year, giving rail-industry colleagues multiple opportunities to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
