RailwaySkylark Drones and e2E Rail have signed a memorandum of understanding to trial artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for monitoring railway infrastructure. The partners aim to explore the use of drone data, geoinformation applications and digital infrastructure monitoring for railway projects. Plans include the evaluation of aerial monitoring and corridor inspection, as well as mapping using LiDAR and photogrammetry. In conjunction with AI analyses, these methods are intended to support the condition assessment of assets, the monitoring of infrastructure and predictive maintenance. Skylark is contributing expertise in asset intelligence, infrastructure monitoring and geodata analysis. e2E Rail is contributing expertise in railway engineering, signalling and safety systems, telecommunications, electrification and system integration.
